I
INTRODUCTION
The cause of the
disappearance of the dinosaurs at the border of the Cretaceous and the Tertiary
(KT), 65 million years ago, caused many theories. The majority are more or less
speculative catastrophic theories. Most known is the theory of Alvarez of the
impact of an asteroid on the earth, in Chicxulub (Mexico).
All these
models, most of the time without factual bases, remain hypothetical and without
irrefutable empirical validation.
Moreover, as we
will see it in chapter II, they do not answer the many criteria required by a
coherent explanation of this disappearance of the dinosaurs: selectivity of the
extinctions, former rise of the animal groups, duration, causal plurality, etc...
A probabilistic model of interaction between the environmental evolution
and the biological evolution is proposed.
This model has
for consequence the natural cause of the death of the dinosaurs. It is based
on the existence of a food chain and probabilistic factors of biomineralisation
of calcium which explain for the five most significant mass extinctions and in
particular of that which occurred at the end of the Cretaceous.
Many arguments,
facts and significant digits validate this proposal.
